recertification-faqs

Recertification will be required every three years, before each cycle end date. Professionals will need to earn 60 professional development credits (PDCs), within their recertification cycle begin and end dates, in order to recertify. Recertification credits will be awarded for the PDC categories of Advance Your Education, Advance Your Profession and/or Advance Your Organization.

Your recertification cycle begins the day you passed the exam or completed all the requirements for the Online Tutorial Pathway. Your recertification cycle ends on the last day of your birth month.

Example:

Took Exam – May 1, 2015

Recertification Period = May 1, 2015 – May 31, 2018

You may submit your completed recertification application after one year into your recertification cycle. Once your recertification application is complete and has been approved, your new 3-year recertification cycle will begin the NEXT DAY. Your certification end date will remain the last day of your birth month. If you recertify with more than 60 credits, you are able to carry over up to 20 credits to your new cycle. Carryover credits will be auto-uploaded at the end of the month following your recertification and will appear in the Advance Your Education category.

These would be considered as extenuating circumstances warranting an extension to recertify, and therefore would be treated as such.

Please contact us and we will update your records to reflect the correct dates.
